Highfield Community Primary School – LED Lighting Installation

Highfield Primary School contacted UK Energy Watch to provide a free energy audit in 2018, UK Energy Watch identified that the lighting was very inefficient with a couple of rooms still using 8FT T12 Fluorescent tubes!

The proposed project also identified that using microwave sensors and PIR sensors the school could achieve additional savings in the corridors, toilets and offices.

Q: What was your key driver in making the decision to upgrade to LED Lighting?

A: Existing lighting was dated and not very energy efficient or effective.

Q: What improvements have you seen following the LED Lighting installation to the working and learning environment?

A: It has made a massive difference the whole school now looks brighter and fresher and makes for a more appealing working environment.

Q: Has there been an effect on the students, teachers and staff with improved lighting to work and learn in?

A: Staff in one room have reported that it has really brightened the atmosphere in the room as the previous lighting was dull.
Children have more pride in the room and are working more effectively as they can see better.  No more distractions from flickering lights.
The caretaker has reported that he is no longer changing bulbs so he is saving time also.

Q: Would you recommend an LED Lighting Installation to other schools and colleges?

A: Yes 100% the process is not complicated and we have great assistance UK Energy watch in particular Leon.  The actual installation only took 2 weeks in summer and did not cause any mess or damage.

Q: What has been your experience working with UK Energy Watch?

A: Excellent customer service was 10 out of 10.  Every email or telephone call is answered immediately and effectively.
